1. FIND THE RIGHT BLOG-NAME

A Sisuahlai reader asks, "How does one choose a suitable name for a blog?"

I say a good blog-name must be catchy and ideally, reflect its general content. The best names are usually witty, funny and highly imaginative, and often self-deprecating e.g. Dandruff, Wonkette.

A newby blogger must decide whether to divulge his or her true identity, this is important for many, obvious reasons. Fame is a dangerous thing to have, especially if you are from a small town.

Always ensure that your blog-name is not a swear word in another popular language. There are many free language translation sites, use it.

And don't shoot yourself in the foot, like naming your blog SISUAHLAI, which is a Teochew word, when your blog writes about Hokkien words.

Now choose wisely.
